Hey, great to have you here!

My name is Miroslav Marić, but my friends call me Jošto. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Mostar. When the war broke out, I moved to Germany, where I’ve been living ever since, mainly in the vibrant Ruhr city of Essen.

I discovered my passion for photography at an early age. I started with a Polaroid camera and later had the chance to experiment with a real SLR camera from my older brother. After a photographic break in the 1990s, I rediscovered my passion as an adult.

As a photographer, I focus on street photography. I love capturing candid moments on the streets of big cities. Amidst the hustle and bustle, I look for moments of contemplation and stillness, often overlooked in these lively environments. But it’s not just the quiet, reflective moments that draw me in; I am also captivated by the hectic energy of the metropolis, which I try to capture through close-up shots of the people who shape it. My visual language is characterized by strong contrasts and striking lines that reflect the geometry of our urban world.

On my website, I share insights into my photographic journey and artistic vision. Thank you for sharing my passion for the city and the people who shape it.
